He formed Western Wireless Corporation in 1994; its spun-off subsidiary VoiceStream Wireless later became T-Mobile USA after a sale to Deutsche Telekom.
Stanton is currently a managing director of Bellevue, Washington-based venture capital firm Trilogy Equity Partners, which he founded in 2006.
Other than during his time at university, Stanton has lived in the Seattle area for almost his whole life.
